Hansen Leadership Institute Scholarship 2026 Open for International Students

San Diego, USA – October 2025: Applications are now open for the Hansen Leadership Institute (HLI) Scholarship 2026, a fully funded summer leadership program hosted at the University of San Diego. The program, funded by the Fred J. Hansen Foundation, offers young leaders from around the world the chance to participate in an intensive three-week training experience focused on peacebuilding, leadership development, and intercultural collaboration.
The 2026 session of the Hansen Leadership Institute will take place from July 1 to July 22, 2026, bringing together students and professionals from various countries to engage in lectures, discussions, and hands-on workshops aimed at developing conflict resolution and communication skills.

Each year, HLI selects exceptional international and U.S. participants who have demonstrated strong leadership potential in academics, community service, or social initiatives. Applicants must also provide a recommendation letter from a professor or academic adviser verifying their English proficiency. Those from regions affected by conflict or political instability are especially encouraged to apply.

The deadline for international applicants of Hansen leaders scholarship is January 15, 2026, while U.S. applicants have until March 15, 2026 to submit their applications. According to the institute, results for international candidates will be released in March. All selected participants must commit to attending the full program from July 1 to July 22, 2026, as partial attendance is not permitted.
